It is a complex pharmaceutical with a long-lasting bacteriostatic effect designed for final rinsing of the root canals during endodontic treatment. Nanocare Plus Silver Gold is based on silver and gold nanoparticles. It has been prepared based on the existing experience with pharmaceuticals containing nanoparticles. Both silver and gold have been used in dentistry for ages. Silver pegs in root canals prevented the infection development although the bacteria were present. There was a disadvantage - it was prone to corrosion and to loss of physical and chemical properties. Gold used in dentistry was also known for its bacteriostatic effect.

The assumption was to prepare a liquid which would supplement current procedures of cleansing the root canals. The mechanical preparation of the main canals allows the rinsing substances to penetrate the system of root canals. Use of germicidal and proteolytic properties of sodium hypochlorite allows the removal of the majority of organic substances from the root canals system.

Modern engineering allowed to prepare the pharmaceutical that has all advantages of silver, concerning its antibacterial activity, and eliminating disadvantages of materials used before. The treatment conception is to use germicidal sodium hypochlorite. For final rinsing we use NANOCARE PLUS SILVER GOLD. After liquid carrier evaporation, the layer of silver and gold nanoparticles is left on the root canal’s wall. So, the antibacterial effect is durable.
